Does my business qualify for a Small Business Health Care Tax Credit?

December 21, 2013

Your small business may qualify for employer tax credits for offering health insurance to your employees if:

  • You have fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees, all making an average of $50,000 a year or less.

  • The tax credit is highest for businesses of 10 or fewer employees who make $25,000 a year or less.

How to Qualify:

To qualify for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit, you must meet the employee and income stipulations and pay at least 50% toward the cost of your full time employees' premium costs. The credit is also only available on certain plans. Contact us to see if you qualify.

You can also learn more by visiting IRS.gov or consulting with your tax advisor.
